Portobelo Fun - 7 Days

Day 1
Transfer from the Airport to the hotel.

Day 2
Today visit the Chagres River and Visit the Embera Indians, You will get to know the culture, traditions and their handicraft. Also and you can enjoy of the exuberant rainforest, as well as take a shower in their waterfall to get to know their way of life and their dances.

Day 3
We continue to the Gatun Locks and Ft. San Lorenzo - The project of building the locks began with the first concrete laid at Gatun, on August 24, 1909. The Pacific-side locks were finished first; the single flight at Pedro Miguel in 1911 and Miraflores May, 1913. The seagoing tug Gatun, an Atlantic entrance working tug used for hauling barges, had the honor on September 26, 1913, of making the first trial lockage of Gatun Locks. The lockage went perfectly, although all valves were controlled manually since the central control board was still not ready. You'll have an impressive view of the Caribbean 87 feet below Lake Gatun. Of course, ships can also be observed here as they are lowered from the lake to ocean level.

Day 4
We will go to the city of Portobelo. We will find one of the most important touristic attractions in Panama, because of its architectural work of great value, such as the Conjunto Monumental Histórico de Portobelo, declared as World Heritage by UNESCO. Some religious buildings are the Church & Hospital of San Juan de Dios of Church of San Felipe, where the famous statue of the “Black Christ” is located. It also has a military architecture such as the Castle of Santiago de la Gloria among others, and civil constructions, such as the former Customs office, valued for its neoclassical style.

Day 5
The Guaira Beach, in which you can find a small float of boats, where visitors can be transported in just 10 minutes to Isla Grande, which is surrounded by a beautiful reef. Having a good time in Isla Grande is a must and the beach is fantastic for relaxing and at night we’ll dance Congo and have fun with the locals.

Day 6
Spend your time and enjoy. You can do snorkeling. Swimming.

Day 7
Transfer from the Hotel to the Airport.
