Diving in Panama - 10 Days

Called by Audubon Magazine one of the top 10 nature lodges in the world, Canopy Tower offers an extraordinary close to nature experience and world class birding. Nature and bird watching in a pristine rainforest and spectacular views. We also enjoy to dive in Portobelo bay, a famous city from where the gold and riches that come of South America were transported to Spain. This place was very attractive for pirate and corsair. Dive near where it assumes to be the rest of Sir Francis Drake.

Day 1
ARRIVAL to Panama City.

Day 2
We will visit the modern City and next Casco Viejo, the antique neighborhood of San Felipe with his colonial churches, San Francisco, the square of the vault. We’ll make a stop for lunch and next visit the Canal Museum, the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal. Come back to the hotel around at 5:00 p.m. In the evening, your local host will pick you up at the hotel for a short drive to the famous Las Tinajas Restaurant to enjoy a Panamanian dinner and a folkloric dance show. Return to your hotel after dinner.

Day 3
We will drive to the Panama Canal, where you will have the opportunity to know the history of the construction of the Panama Canal, submerging in the Gatún lake water and to know about the first intent to build the Canal by the Frenchmen. You will hear the creak of the ship, in their daily travel in our water.

Day 4
You will travel to the Atlantic side of the Panama Isthmus, driving very early in the morning, in the Portobelo Bay. Then we will travel to the Pacific side; take a boat that will carry us to Taboga, island of Flowers. In the Island the boat will wait to carry us to the Ocean Pacific diving place.

Day 5
You will dive near Portobelo bay, a famous city from where the gold and riches that come of South America were transported to Spain. This place was very attractive for pirate and corsair. Dive near where it assumes to be the rest of Sir Francis Drake.

Day 6
We’ll be visiting Coiba National Park an exciting and beautiful place to admire the difference species as Rhincodon typus), (Galeocerdo cuvier), (Manta birostris), (Coriphaena hippurus) y (Thunnus albacahes).

Day 7
The seas of Coiba are also the habitat of four species of cetaceans: the enormous Megaptera novaeangliae, orca (Orcinus orca), the speckled dolphin tropical (attenuata Stenella) and the dolphin Mular (Tursiops truncatus).

Day 8
In waters of the park and adjacent places the occasional presence of 19 additional species of cetaceans has been observed that are in the Panamanian Pacific.

Day 9
Today we come back to Panama City.

Day 10
Transfers from the hotel to the Airport.
